About Ziggy
Ziggy is a small dog with a big personality. Your heart will definitely melt when he looks up at you with his cute little brown eyes and pays attention to your talking with his big, floppy ears. Ziggy has a number of favorite things (in no particular order): meals, treats, going on walks, tug of war, fetch, belly rubs, walks, being inside, lying in the sun, people-watching at the cafe, nature, walks, and beaches!
Ziggy loves to play tags and fetch. He can bounce like a rabbit and run like a rocket! He loves the outdoors and exploring the world, so walkies are a must! This little fella can walk for miles, so if you don't enjoy a daily stroll, Ziggy may not be the right boy for you. After a long walk, he enjoys taking a nap!
Ziggy is a funny little man with a few quirky traits that will need to be managed, but he is a loving and affectionate little fella who has a zest for life and a big heart.
Ziggy loves to be a part of your life, but he can also be happy to self-entertain while his humans are out, whether that be sleeping or playing with his favorite toys.
He doesn't like to be touched around his face and head, be brushed on his head, or have a harness and collar put on. Please be patient with him and practice these things little by little - with a lot of treats and positive reinforcement!
Ziggy is an indoor dog who loves to be inside with his humans, but he likes to sit outside and watch the world go by.
Grooming and bathing for Ziggy are a must. When he arrived at SCAR, he was so matted - poor little fella! That's why he was shaved and has a bit of funny haircut, but his hair will grow back. So, regular grooming is essential. He does not feel comfortable being brushed on his head, so a lot of practice will be necessary! He is fine being in the shower.
Ziggy can "sit" and "look". He also knows what "a good boy" means. He knows that he needs to look up to his human if it's okay to walk out the door. He is a very smart boy, and lifelong training is beneficial for both his future pawrents and Ziggy. That will be great stimulation for Ziggy as well!
Ziggy lived with his foster sibling (a 2-year-old female Jack Russell Terrier) and loves playing with her all the time. He needs to be reminded to stop, as he tends to get too excited and does not know when to stop.
He has been great with anyone who has visited the house. He also enjoyed visiting his foster mum's friends and family's places. He even met their dogs, and he was very polite and comfortable meeting them. It will be nice for him to have siblings who will welcome him to his new home.
Ziggy loves food!!! He is not a fussy eater at all. He eats anything you offer. But his human needs to be very careful when he walks as he might pick up something and eat what he should not.
