About Dare
Dare is a big boofhead of a dog, and like most big men, is gentle and easy going. Although an extrovert, he is not unduly rowdy or troublesome but being big could easily knock down a small child or feeble adult without malice. He sleeps through the night and is an early riser but after a quick play and toilet goes back to sleep! Dare eats well and does not go in for resource guarding and has no known allergies. He travels well in the car and is a bit shy or nervous with other dogs but shows no sign of aggression. When asked to describe him in one word, his carer went for “sweetheart.” Dare barks at his reflection and chases bugs and birds. He likes to play in water but is not really a swimmer. He has some basic commands like sit, stay and recall is not too bad. Toilet trained and likes to chew things. Dare is a bit dopey but is motivated by food so training will not be too hard. Summing up Dare, he is very sweet and just wants to please and being social can travel to lots of places and is well behaved and super snuggly. I mean, what’s not to like? He could do with some training to be the dog you really want. If you can find space in your life for Dare, apply to adopt today!
Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I’d like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I’ve learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I’ll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me “no” if I’m chewing something I shouldn’t and give me a chew toy instead. I’d love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don’t get bored with them.
I CAN FLY TO PERTH!
