About Pepper - 9 Week Old Kelpie X (Trial)
Introducing Pepper who is a 9-week-old female Kelpie.
Pepper is a thriving little warrior pup who is somewhat timid compared to her boisterous brothers, but this doesn’t slow her down at all. Pepper has an inquisitive, adventurous nature and is often missing in action, out exploring the world. Pepper holds her own and doesn’t hold back when rumbling in the grass and under the cubby house with her brother’s Billy and Foxy (also both available for adoption). Pepper’s 2y/o large breed foster sibling has been teaching her everything that she needs to know about the world and the two are often seen snuggled up alongside of each other.
Pepper is a very content pup and has braved various outings, loud sounds, small humans, cats, big dogs, and crowds. She takes the world in her stride.
Pepper and her siblings have had the freedom of choice between inside or outside play and enjoys the wide-open spaces of the yard but will often wonder in to take a snooze under the lounge or in a blanket box that she re-purposed as her own. This area is a brother free zone, and she makes sure they know it.
Pepper quickly mastered the dog-door and is both toilet trained, and crate trained. She is also beginning to recognise her name and often comes when called. Such a clever little pup! We have also been learning basic sit and stay commands with lots of success.
Pepper will grow into a medium sized dog. Kelpies have a double coat with a short, dense undercoat which will require weekly brushing to keep it manageable. Kelpies are bred as working dogs and are known to be highly intelligent, devoted, and super loyal to their family. Regular rigorous exercise and mental stimulation will be imperative to Pepper’s wellbeing. We are seeking a family or individual who will embrace her into their lifestyle so that she can continue to thrive in this way.
Pepper’s adoption fee is $700 which includes her desexing when she is old enough. It also includes her first two vaccinations. She has been treated for fleas and worms and is microchipped.
Pepper and her two brothers are in foster care in Singleton, NSW. Since she is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland, and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. She'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when she's 5 to 6 months old.
