About Tank
Introducing Tank, the big lovebug!
Tank's heart is as big as him and he is ready to give it to his forever family ❤️
HOUSEHOLD- Tank would be suited to a variety of understanding homes. He can still be a bit scared from fast movements or loud voices and he is cautious when he first meets you. Once you give him a pat or cuddle, Tank quickly bonds with you, is trusting and affectionate.
ON GOING TRAINING- Tank is still unsure of the world around him and will need help navigating through it. For reassurance, Tank seeks encouragement and guidance from his handler.
This is something that will need to be worked on so Tank will feel at ease and comfortable in the world. He is not much of a jumper, knows how to sit and if you stand still he will happily sit at your feet until you are ready to move again.
Tank is timid of strangers. Our volunteers have been helping him with meeting new people and he will continue to improve with further exposure.
ON LEAD - Tank remains calm and sometimes cautious which can make him travel slowly or behind you. If he sees other dogs, he will pull wanting to say hello but can be easily managed.
PLAY/TOYS - Tank has not shown much interest in toys, when a toy is thrown more then once he seems to be confused with what you are asking him to do. This may change once he feels more comfortable in a home environment, we would recommend trialling different types of toys to see if something will take his interest.
OTHER DOGS - Tank has met multiple dogs and is respectful while being playful with them. When Tank has been corrected by dogs he will simply back away and not attempt what they did not like again. Tank could be housed with a playful, suitable canine friend.
CATS/OTHER ANIMALS - Tank met cats within our cattery, instantly he was unsure but did gain some courage to move towards one but when it meowed happily at him, Tank quickly grew nervous again and backed away. He shows no signs of worry with cats from us.
FOOD - Tank has no special dietary needs and a non fussy eater.
CAR RIDES - Tank travels well in a car and remains relaxed for the duration of the ride.
GROOMING/CARE - Tank happily sits waiting for some one on one attention. He enjoys all handling, is easy to brush and his coat will require minimal attention.
EXERCISE- Tank becomes unsure in unknown public places. Daily walks introducing him to different environments will be beneficial to build up Tank's confidence.
When exercising in Tank's normal environments, he thoroughly enjoys being out and about with his handler.
