About Derek
If you are interested in Derek, or any of our Greyhounds, we require you to fill in our application form - https://forms.gle/3bTG6XWQv49RPxJV6
Derek is 6 years young, full of life and love! He is such a big smoochy boy, his tail is wagging every time he sees you from sun up to sun down. Loves new adventures outdoors and going for a car ride. He really has settled into pet life very quickly. He just wants to be loved and to please you.
Derek has good recall and acknowledges his name from afar. ( Within the backyard confines or other side of the house ). He snoozes through the day and makes the best office assistant.
He would prefer a house with a yard but this boy really only wants a bed and cuddles. Loves to be loved, doesn’t need constant contact or to be in the same room but will always wag his tail constantly when in eyesight
Derek has never been solo in his 6 years, he would love company and gets along well with others. He is 1 of 5 at the moment, and coped well for a week sharing residence under watch with a miniature foxie. He has done 8 hr of alone time with the resident dogs both inside and out with no destruction.
Derek loves all people big and small but might jump excitedly so little people require big peoples care
He is lovely to walk on a loose lead and just enjoys the strolls to take in this amazing freedom he now has in the world full of smells. He is quite a confident dog and doesn't get scared by busy neighbourhood noises
Derek arrived with so much kennel coat and is currently trying to shed this off to get an amazing smooth black coat!
Will you be the one to help shed the coat?
At Homeward Bound Hounds, we pride ourselves on matching the right dog to the right family. We need to know more about you and your home to find the best possible match.
