About Murphy
Meet Murphy – your perfect canine companion and a lapdog in XL size.
Murphy is an affectionate and sensitive boy, deeply in tune with the world around him. He's on the lookout for his forever family, who are ready to provide him the support he needs to be his best self.
After getting to know you, this big-hearted goofball transforms into the ideal lapdog and would also thrive in the company of a large-breed resident dog. Murphy loves attention, whether it's during playtime, car rides, or even routine activities like nail clipping. Give him some love, and he'll become your steadfast friend.
Due to his sensitive nature, Murphy benefits from gradual introductions to new experiences and relies on anti-anxiety medication. He's been impeccably trained, even embracing the use of a muzzle for safety. Murphy advocates for the good dogs who need them, proving to others that not all muzzled dogs are bad and the need of muzzle to protect not only himself but also others in case he was not able to control his feelings in public.
Blossoming in a foster home alongside a husky mix, Murphy has demonstrated his eagerness to please, responding well to commands like sit, drop, lie down, spin, "look," wait, and boundaries. Fully toilet and crate trained, he's a quick learner who enjoys positive reinforcement, especially in the form of treats and lots of pats.
Murphy enjoys being part of everything you do. If there is an award for the Best Supervisor of the House, he will be the winner. He is always following behind, eager to assist and be part of any discussion or activity. Although he is excited to leave the house, he would also be eager to go home after a 15 minutes walk around the block. On most weekends, he spends his time at cafes with his foster family or going on long walks/hikes. He hates the rain but he loves swimming especially in the sea.
Murphy's perfect match is someone who has the patience, confidence and empathy. His new family has to be capable of navigating his big feelings and strength. Murphy will look at you constantly for guidance and reassurance whenever he is out of his comfort zone therefore, he needs an advocate to guide him through the vast world, setting up proper boundaries and be firm with his training.
Last but not least, Murphy is a simple boy and all he wants is your love and care for him which in return, he promises to love you endlessly and to be by your side loyally.
The ideal family for Murphy would:
- Ideally include a large breed resident dog for companionship
- Have secure and tall fencing for his safety
- Consist of adults only (as kids might be a bit too overwhelming)
- Have experience with dogs like Murphy who thrive with extra tender loving care.
- Doesn’t have cats
Ready to welcome Murphy into your home? You're in for a lifetime of love and companionship!
