Queenie

Hi my name is Queenie and I'd like to be the Queen of Your House (if that's ok).

My previous owner got a debilitating disease and so she had to very regretfully find me a new home. This has been a bit confusing and upsetting, for all of us - just when you think you know where you live. Anyway, my current carer has been looking after me for a few weeks now and she totally gets me, so she can tell you all about me in more detail. I'm a cocker spaniel poodle cross, so I'm not only cute to look at but I'm also pretty clever. I eat well, I walk well on lead, I don't love a bath but will have one under sufferance. I'm an excellent jumper and I like to jump up onto the couch or the bed as if it's my own. I bark a bit when someone comes or when it's time for a walk because I do LOVE to go for a walk. When a stranger comes to the house, I tend to bark to be scary just in case they're a threat but at the same time I wag my tail because who doesn't love visitors. So I admit that I'm sending a bit of a mixed message there. After a while I can tell if they're friend or foe and then it's all good.

I love toys and I REALLY don't like to give them back, but I am working on that - I need your understanding, patience and encouragement, as my world has been turned upside down just recently. I like other dogs, but confess that I do always try to boss them around which can cause friction with some, so I do need to be Top Dog and Only Dog in my new home.

My new owners will be experienced Doggy People who are happy to let me be me. I can use a doggy door and you can even touch my feet (I know most dogs hate that, but I'm ok with it).

I'm ok in the car. My current carers love me a lot and will cry when I find my permanent home. Please allow me into your home and your heart as I have so much to give. My needs are simple — I need a human or two who can be with me every day, I need routine and especially a daily walk, I need food and love and toys and boundaries and encouragement, regular grooming and I also need a tiny bit of grass. I like to roll on it and rub my back in the grass but I also need to pee on it (that's just what I've always done). I also like raw capsicum and carrots.
