About Cindy
" Hi my name is Cindy and my FM thinks I'm the sweetest little lady. I'm a senior girl of around 11 but like most terriers, I have lots of energy and can get up to some mischief at times and that's when FM yells...CYNTHIA! BEHAVE! and I know it's time to be good.
I haven't had an easy life and was found as a stray by AWL who then decided CRQ was the best place for me to find a loving home.
I'm a sweet little girl and love my humans and get along well with other dogs but I don't want to share your love. I would prefer to be the only dog so I get all the attention I've missed in the past.
I love tummy rubs and pats and will follow you everywhere. I prefer someone home most of the time to keep me company.
I love walks and car rides and going on adventures. I love exploring and chasing lizards but I don't like cats. That might be the terrier in me! I like to bark and chase them!
I love my food so need to watch my waistline. I get a little nervous with thunderstorms but as long as I'm beside you, I'm ok.
I'm toilet trained to go outside but will also use puppy pads indoors.
I will sleep in my bed on the floor near you but really I like to lie beside you. I sleep well throughout the night.
As I said before, I'm a typical terrier so I'll need a good fenced yard to keep me from wandering.
Could I be the bundle of love and company you're looking for?"
Medical notes
11 year old Cindy is desexed, microchipped, up to date with vaccinations as well as flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention.
Cindy has had her right eye removed due to a mature cataract. Her left eye has glaucoma, but her pressures have been good since using the eye drops. Betoptic drops which are an inexpensive medication.
She also has some alopecia which causes her hair to be patchy and thin. Her coat may not grow back, but has improved with a good diet and care.
Cindy has had a dental whilst in care and had several extractions.
She has a grade 2 heart murmur but has not needed to start on heart meds at this stage.
Overall, she is a senior dog who has mostly typical senior dog issues, and given that she has previously been neglected, we have done what we can to give her a good quality of life moving forward. She may have some mild arthritis and benefit from joint support, you will also need to have regular vet check ups to keep an eye on her heart murmur and her eye pressure.
Oh and one more thing that we don’t want beautiful Cindy to know about… she has put on a bit of weight since being in care and could benefit from losing some of it, but just keep that quiet, ok?
