About Kitty
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
**Before applying, please remember that adopting a puppy into your home is a huge commitment, and very demanding of your time. Puppies require daily exercise, positive and varied socialisation, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for most of the day with regular focused input, especially in those first six months after adoption **
NAME: Kitty
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to SAFE Esperance from the pound with her 7 siblings.
BREED: Mixed – we don’t know the parentage and consequently don’t know their adult size but we think around medium, we also think these puppies will have some American Staffordshire Terrier in their mix.
American Staffordshire Terriers are quite high energy, playful, affectionate and intelligent but do require training as they can be headstrong. They are very social with adults and children and are extremely loyal but can suffer from separation anxiety if left for long periods. Their sociability with dogs is a facet that needs work from an early age so attendance at puppy school with continued training around friendly well-mannered dogs will enhance their sociability.
********************************************************************************
ASSETS: Kitty is a complete cuddlebug. Gentle, loving, confident, adventurous, sweet and playful pretty much sums up her personality.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Kitty is a typical puppy with bursts of energy where she loves to rough and tumble with her siblings and play with balls and rope toys. She loves to curl up in your lap and laps up all the cuddles she can get. She will play for a while then settle down for a snooze before waking up and doing it all over again.
ENDEARING FEATURES: She’s great with everyone she meets and Kitty and her siblings are all very affectionate. She gives you loving looks that will just melt your heart!
OTHER ANIMALS: Being a young puppy she will get on well with other friendly dogs after gentle, supervised introductions and would go well in a home with either another youngish dog to play with, or a home where she gets to meet other dogs regularly. She could live with a dog-savvy, confident cat, again after gentle introduction.
GENERAL INFO: Kitty will need training for pretty much everything as she’s so young at present. She isn’t housetrained yet so will definitely need help in this area too. Expect accidents while she’s settling into her new home and routine! She’ll benefit greatly from puppy school and ongoing classes into adulthood where she can mix with other dogs, and this is a commitment we will expect from her new owner. All the pups have been crate trained and are used to their crate for nap/chill time and at night. If you have children we strongly recommend that you continue with a crate as their quiet space for the safety of puppy and children. We expect these pups to be medium sized when fully grown but there are no guarantees.
ESSENTIALS for Kitty:
** a loving home where someone is there for most of the day especially in the first six months after adoption
** a home where she is treated as part of the family and is allowed to be inside or out as she needs and to sleep inside at night
** a decent sized garden where she can run, play, sniff and explore
** attendance at puppy school and continued training into adulthood for her to learn and grow confidence
** continued positive, gentle exposure and socialisation
