Introducing the sweet lovable and hairy little munchkin .. Skittles
Skittles is such a family man, he loves everyone he meets!!
He is a 9.5 kilo Maltese x ( we strongly think Cairn Terrier ) who will make the perfect addition to those seeking a small furry family member
Oh you have kids?! Kids are his absolute favorite!! He's currently in foster care with 3 children, and he just adores them and they are definitely his favorite of the 2 legged kind be mindful as he will steal their toys if they leave them out and he takes a liking to that toy lol
Skittles has an irresistible little under bite he loves showing his little reefs with his cheeky smiles to everyone.
Skittles love to run around the back yard chasing balls, big and small. He loves soft toys as well!
Skittles loves to follow his humans around the house and watch what they are doing. Especially in the kitchen, he is a little foodie! He will do absolutely anything for a treat.
Skittles loves his belly rubs and cuddles on the couch. He can be quite the lap dog when he wants to be.
Skittles as you can see in the profile pics normally has quite a thick and long coat which was very knotted so we had him shaved off and he now feels a million dollars so please be mindful he WILL need coat maintenance. Now Skittles was definitely not a fan of the groomer so will need a gentle groomer for his ongoing cuts especially his feet. But he enjoys brushing by his people and sits and laps it up
Skittles is completely toilet trained when he has access to the back yard.We love watching skittles personality come out, everyday we are learning something new.
Skittles sleeps in his bed. He usually puts himself to be at about 9-9:30 and will sleep till the first person gets up.
Skittles favorite things are playing with balls, walks, treats, soft toys, kids and belly rubs. He's not a very hard man to please.
Skittles loves all people. He walks past people on the streets and expects pats from everyone. Definitely a man of the people lol
Skittles does enjoy chasing birds and every now and then a car. So a firm grip on the lead while walking him is necessary.
Skittles will do anything for a treat. He has a range of skills, from sit, drop, hi-five and shake. He is a smart little cookie.
He travels well in a car.
Skittles is non destructive when he is home alone. He does crave a lot of human attention, so someone who is home more than not would be an ideal fit but he is fine to be left alone while his hoomans are at work and school
Skittles loves his walks. We take him on a walk everyday. He's the type of dog that could walk forever! But he's just more happy to get out of the house more than anything. He's such a social butterfly
He does tend to pull on a leash with excitement when he sees something he likes . Lucky he is so little and light lol
Skittles aren't overly fussy with food. He currently eats his dry food without any issues. He is currently eating Savourlife Adult dry
Skittles does have quiet high thunderstorm anxiety - he did not like fireworks either. This can be helped with medication. He does need someone who will look out for him and make sure he is safe during these times. He gets so scared he wants to hide in a confined area eg in a cupboard so as many dogs go with this we have found giving him a safe space , a thunder coat and medication gets him through perfectly fine during these occasional times
Skittles unfortunately doesn't like dogs getting too close to him. This means he will be best suited as an only dog.
He's had no interactions with cats.
He loves to chase birds.

Adoption Criteria
Someone who will make Skittles a part of the family.
Kids are an added bonus but they must be kind gentle and dog savvy
Someone to take him on his daily walks as he just loves it
Someone who will make the effort to be home when we have thunderstorm warnings.
A home with a nice yard for playing and playing fetch
