Don't miss the chance to welcome Skate into your life. With her boundless energy, love for play, and infectious enthusiasm, she's ready to become the heart and soul of your household.
About: Confident, friendly, outgoing, social, and independent—Skate embodies the qualities of an ideal furry friend. Her playful and curious nature will keep you entertained, and she's always up for a game with her beloved toys.
Whether you're a seasoned dog owner or new to the world of canine companionship, Skate is ready to bring love and excitement to your home.
Ideal Home: Skate is incredibly adaptable, making her a great fit for households of all kinds. Whether you thrive in a busy and loud environment or prefer a calm and quiet atmosphere, Skate will adjust her energy to match yours. She's like a furry chameleon, reacting to her surroundings, so if you're high-energy, she'll join in the fun, but if you're quiet, she'll be as quiet as a mouse.
With a love for both indoors and outdoors, Skate dreams of a home with free access to both realms. Whether you live in a house, or even a farm, as long as you have a medium to large yard with high, secure fencing, she'll feel right at home.
Family: This vibrant pup is open to meeting kids aged 8 years and up. While she may have a jumping habit, Skate is already learning that it's not the preferred way to greet her human friends & she is showing a lot of improvement. With a bit of training and positive reinforcement, she's well on her way to becoming a well-mannered family member.
Part-time workers need not worry; she's well-suited for a variety of lifestyles.
Furry Friends: Skate is open to meeting other dogs, but she currently lacks a bit of finesse in her social interactions. She'll need some dedicated work on her manners before becoming the perfect playmate for other canines.
As for cats, it's uncertain how she'd fare, leaving that decision to the discretion of her new owners.
Work: Post-adoption training is highly recommended for Skate. Whether it's training at home, participating in group classes, or perfecting leash, recall, and basic commands, she's eager to learn and please.
Already familiar with the command "sit" and showing promise with treats, Skate is a quick learner who rarely barks.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: To keep up with her high energy levels, Skate would thrive on daily walks and exercises ranging from 30 to 60+ minutes.
Don’t forget se LOVES toys – any kind will suit her just fine.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
