About Thumper
Meet Thumper,
Thumper is currently available for adoption with his brothers Bugs & Peter.
Thumper is looking for a home with a family who is patient and kind. Someone who will show him that humans are friends.
He would love to find an owner who will welcome & allow him to be apart of their family.
Thumper was born at the shelter. But the shelter is big & loud & is a lot to take in for a small bun like him.
He has gotten used to our staff, & his hutch but would really blossom in a place that feels like home. A place that allows him to be him. A place that offers him attention & affection.
Thumper would really love a calm and quiet household, or at least an area that is just his. He is currently working on building his confidence as he can be a little bit timid & shy around new people, so he will need somewhere that he can safely retreat to when things get a bit much. Whether that be inside or out is entirely up to you!
He will need a safe & secure hutch. Somewhere out of the sun with plenty of shade. A place that is comfortable & cool for the warmer months, & warm & cozy for the cooler months.
Thumper will need access to fresh clean water, as assortment of toys to chew on & play with and fresh food daily.
He is somewhat litter trained, but it’s best to show him where the litter tray is when you get home to minimise any accidents if you’d like to house train him.
If you’ve got other animals at home, that’s okay, just make sure that they have a slow introduction.
Can you open your heart and home to a shy little bun like Thumper?
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
