About Lady Guinevere rsuk011519
Lady Guinevere is a very special lass who has captivated our hearts. It’s been a long road to get her to the point where she is now but all that has been worth it to see her happy, goofy side.
Gwen has found the shelter to be very overwhelming and meeting new people is scary. In the home however, she warms up fairly quickly and comes up to people for gentle pats, she'd happily spend hours just rubbing her head against an outstretched or dangling hand. We’ve come to find that instead of begging for food off the table she begs for affection with a little squeaky meow. How could you say no to those gorgeous green eyes?
As confident as she can seem in the home, there are still a few moments where she gets a little unsure and can run away, hide or hiss at you. All it takes to win her back over is to speak calmly to her and offer her a hand for scratches, she's them back to her usual snuggly self with a speed that almost gives you whiplash. With more time and a very understanding family she will learn to not be afraid in these moments.
Gwen will thrive in a home with another confident cat that is happy to engage with her. Currently she spends her days wandering form each of my cats for play, grooming and will sleep in their beds with them, so it’s very important her friend is happy to have her around. She will also follow her people around the home, always looking for affection and company.
Gwen allows herself to be picked up and held for a few moments, we’ve been able to work our way up to cutting her claws. She has the potential to become a lap cat.
With a little more guidance, reassurance and patience in her forever family, Lady Guinevere will be the Queen she’s always meant to be. Gwen has built up so much resilience and is able to put up with other cats' antics and even join them. She's a true goofball that knows how to make people laugh, she’s quite literally tripping over herself to give and get affection from her people.
Scratchers and cat trees keep her entertained and fluffy beds and hides keep her safe and warm.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
