About Pavlova
Meet Pavlova, the Christmas Angel.
This precious pup was abandoned with her litter of puppies just days before Christmas. Yes, you read that right. Though estimated to be barely a year old, this young poppet had 5 smaller poppets in tow 😢
Pavlova’s babies were in good condition and were (in a real Christmas miracle) very quickly fostered into loving homes.
Pavlova, however, was not doing so well. This little lady was sick. Big sick. That’s when the South Hedland Vet stepped in and made a second Christmas miracle happen, seeing Pavlova through the worst of things and SAFEly on her way to a better future.
Finally well enough to enter foster care in the New Year, it was very obvious that this spotty love had lived her short life pretty hard and she was scared of loud noises, leads, being picked up and men.
Pav’s foster carers thought this was going to be a very long road and have been continually amazed by her quick progress, trust and willingness to love and be loved (love and trust most easily obtained with the assistance of roast chicken)
In just 6 short weeks Pavlova learned to be cuddled, sit for food, sleep in a crate, not poop* in the hallway, walk on the lead and claim her spot on the couch. She has mastered being friends with kids, puppies, dogs, cats** and kittens and decided that she still hates being bathed. Over the last week, in her biggest and bravest move yet, Pavlova transitioned to a new foster home and has accepted the company of men***
The team have decided that this little love is finally ready to find her new home.
Can you turn a Christmas Miracle into a Valentine’s Day fairy tale?
*pooping - Inside the house toilet training took a while and is probably at about 95%. Pav requires gentle support to master this skill as she is very fearful of loud voices and signs of human aggression.
** cats - Pav believes that everyone is a friend and play buddy and doesn’t yet know the difference between cat and dog. A confident cat who can handle canines will have no worries. Again, gentle correction for unwanted behaviour is a must with this girl.
***men - Nice ones, obviously, this girl has good taste.
