About Beaver
Beaver is a very handsome boy who is a wonderful little companion. He loves being close by his humans, typical of the loyal nature shown by many of his breed type. If you are working at home or watching TV, Beaver is likely to be lying by your feet or snuggled up next to you on the couch. He is a friendly boy who enjoys getting some love and attention from the people that he meets. Beaver is a relatively active and playful puppy. He enjoys playing with toys and loves chasing the flirt pole around. Out and about, Beaver is curious and likes to explore the world. He likes to use his nose to get all the news from the neighbourhood.
Beaver is currently in foster care with a large breed dog. The two get along well and enjoy playing together with lots of wrestling. As he is still a pup, Beaver’s new owners will need to be able to provide him with regular socialisation with other appropriate dogs. This would ideally be in the form of playdates with other known friendly dogs in a more controlled setting. Beaver is a working breed type so will need significant daily exercise but also good mental stimulation to work his brain. He travels well in the car so will make a great companion to go for rides and adventures with.
While in foster care, Beaver has begun his basic training. He is a very intelligent boy who loves to learn things. He is both food and toy motivated which makes him an excellent candidate for higher level training. Already he is very good at sit, doing well with his leash walking and with the door open is always toileting outside. Beaver is crate trained and sleeps there throughout the night. His confidence is growing day by day and even though he is initially cautious in new situations, he recovers quickly. Beaver will need new owners who are committed to his ongoing training and exposure to the world. He is a puppy sponge just waiting to be taught lots of fun things.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Beaver, preferably with working dog experience. He would do well in a home with another playful adult dog who is already trained and can be a good role model for him – another working breed type would be ideal. Otherwise, he can live as an only dog if his new owners are able to support him through this transition over time. Regardless, he is a people dog and would love a home environment where someone is home more often than not, or he is able to tag along.
Beaver is young enough to learn to live with different types of pets with the appropriate training and guidance from his owners. He is currently living with a cat who is a bit bossy and scary, but he would have to be taught not to chase a cat that runs. Currently, Beaver is a bit mouthy, particularly if he is over tired. This means he should have rest time enforced regularly and would be best suited to older children who can participate in is training. Beaver will make a wonderful, loyal and loving companion to his new owners and will thrive with an active and stimulating lifestyle.

This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.
Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
