Introducing the gorgeous little Heeler x with the outgoing personality and love of life weighing in at just 16 kilos Spencer
Spencer loves to snuggle, if you keep patting him, that is his ultimate spoil session. When you head outside to greet him, he smiles and runs to you with a joyful booty swagger, such great energy. Spencer is bouncy and is always up for anything, he will be fast asleep but once he sees you it is on and there is fun to be had. Although as the sun falls so does his energy ready for a quiet time with a look on his eyes “just love me.”

Spencer is an ultimate buddy, loves all he meets and has been great in a backyard with two other bossy female canines. He has been with us during the busiest time of the year with celebrations, storms, heat, rain and of course fireworks, our boy Spencer took it in his stride like a champion without complaining.

Spencer is a playful and affectionate boy who treats all members of his foster family equally. He brings joy and warmth to those around him. In the backyard, Spencer enjoys a variety of playful activities such as playing with toys, engaging in tug of war, searching for treats, and cuddling with the children. He has a great relationship with his foster dog sister and can play with her all day.

When alone, Spencer is a relaxed little man, extremely well-behaved and can entertain himself. He truly thrives on human companionship though, displaying excellent manners, eating well, and showing beautiful affection for his humans. Spencer's friendliness extends to kids and visitors, making him an amazing companion for families. He’ll sit down and watch you with puppy dog eyes or give your hands a lick to show you that he loves you!

In terms of obedience, Spencer is a well-mannered boy with a submissive and eager-to-please nature. He may not have had many opportunities for walks in the past so continued lead training is required. In the yard, he is a little jumpy when he first greets you but quickly settles, often following his humans around for pats. We have established Spencer can sit, stay, drop, come and jump up on the couch when invited.

Spencer's sociable nature shines through when it comes to playtime. He can play all day if another dog is up for it. He plays well with his foster sisters (both bigger than him) and likes to take breaks in the sun when needed.

Traveling in the car is no issue for Spencer. While he may initially need some assistance getting into bigger cars, he settles quickly and behaves exceptionally well. His recent vet visit was a dream, the team giving him an A+ for his behavior.

Enrichment is an important aspect of Spencer's life. He loves spending time with people and thrives when given attention. Playing with a ball, teddy, or Kongs keeps him entertained, and he responds well to recall by whistle or by his name. Daily walks and training sessions would greatly benefit him.

Spencer's ideal home would be one where he can be surrounded by people he adores. He longs to be the best friend of a loving family who will provide him with recall and lead training and basic commands, and plenty of joy. He would do equally well in a house with no other dogs but also one with a female dog of similar size and with enough space to run and enjoy zoomies, as well as sunbathing opportunities. Spencer loves to sit on your lap for a little affectionate hug, he really appreciates positive good boys and kindness. It is recommended that the family continue with structured training and controlled dog playtime.

Adoption Criteria
A home with a med to large yard that has secure fencing, shade and shelter from the elements and grass for playtime
A home with or without children but if children are in residence we are seeking children mature dog savvy
A home that have the time and dedication to keep him exercised and stimulated throughout his whole life
A home with or without another dog but another dog would be wonderful and if another dog in residence we seek a Female dog who is loving and playful
