About Lilly
Hi! I’m Lilly and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR LILLY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/xVTbXPJTRhPWaYZq5
NOTE: You are unable to meet Lilly until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Lilly in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I enjoy the company of other dogs my own size but am NOT keen on bigger dogs, I am content being the only dog however.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promise to keep me well groomed and brush me regularly so I’m always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• A quiet & mature family/household - this is what I am used too
• I am very people orientated however am not fond of being picked up
• Short regular walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who’ll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• A family that will love and care for me during my twilight years
• I am a little on the chonky side and would benefit from losing some weight
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No other dogs - I don't mind passing them and saying hi when out and about but I do not have much tolerance for them
• Cats or small animals
My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I know my basic doggie commands
• I walk well on lead
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch
• Housetrained and used to being allowed inside, I may have some accidents whilst settling in.
Where I need to improve / Training required:
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• I need further training on my recall as I can ignore you if you're trying to call me back to you
• I may show signs of anxiety when I'm left alone in the backyard. Leaving me some enrichment toys/treats may help this.
• I can sometimes initially be shy and try to avoid things going over my head (lead etc). It doesn't take long for me warm up and my excitable & full of life nature to come out.
• I am scared of thunder & fireworks and will bark & whine. I will require a safe space to retreat to during these events as well as comfort and reassurance from my family.
• I am social with other friendly dogs however I will react if they are too full on or reactive to me, I am happy to be an only dog whilst living out the rest of my twilight years.
