About Capper
This extremely special boy is Capper. He came to us from a rural NSW facility and is going to make an exceptional addition to a lucky family.
Capper quickly settled into the luxuries of foster care and enjoys nothing more than cuddles with his foster carer or a play in the water. He is very affectionate, but also happy to hang out on his bed if you’re busy which is a great combination. He adores his foster carers and loves to be involved in day to day activities wherever allowed. Another bonus is that he is a lovely size, currently sitting at just 16kg. Capper is a water baby and snaps up every opportunity to get into the shell pool or water feature! He would love a home where he can dip his feet in the water and go on other fun adventures.
Capper was Mr social during his time at the pound and has enjoyed meeting and playing with a range of dogs while in care. He has beautiful play style with other dogs, and he would enjoy regular play dates with other known friendly dogs in his new home. When out walking on leash, he is more submissive and shy when passing other dogs but is always very socially appropriate. Capper is suitable to live with another friendly and playful adult dog who is already fully trained up and can be a great role model for him. He is also suitable to live as an only dog and is fine to left at home in the yard when you run errands or are out for a couple of hours.
Capper is an easy boy to have around the house. He is crate trained, toilet trained and sleeps throughout the night without a peep. Capper knows how to use his brain and figured out how to use the doggy door in no time. He really enjoys playing with toys and loves it when you join in the game with him. Capper will require a strong and confident owner. If he is allowed to become excited, he will mouth and jump up. However, he has fantastic ability to understand pack position and these behaviours do not present when he is kept in line and given consistent direction. Capper is good with children; however, we will not be rehoming him with children as it could create too much excitement in the environment and bring out his mouthing or jumping behaviour.
In his current foster home, Capper has excellent impulse control when following the place command. His new owners should continue his place training, particularly inside the home, to ensure that he understands to remain calm inside at all times. Structure and routine are his friends. Capper should only be allowed to play outside and never inside so that he doesn’t forget his beautiful calm house manners that he knows so well. He doesn’t have over the top energy levels and physical stimulation needs; however, he does need daily exercise and mental stimulation. Capper thoroughly enjoys going for walks, particularly bushwalks, and he walks perfectly on the lead. His recall is also perfect and having such a loyal nature means he never strays far from you anyway. Capper travels well in the car so will make a great companion to take on trips or adventures.
We just think Capper is such a special dog and deserves nothing but the best in a forever home. He is the type of dog who will be someone’s best friend and make every adventure a lot of fun. We are looking for a home where he will be taken out on lots of fun outings to beaches, on bush walks and many other doggy friendly places. Capper must be allowed inside as part of the family and receive lots of cuddle time as this is one of his favourite things to do along with snoozing the evening away by your feet. He will need to be provided a warm and comfy bed to sleep inside on of a night and his new home should have someone home more often than not.
If you are looking for a loyal, affectionate and social boy and can provide a dog with an amazing home full of fun and adventure, then Capper might be your man. Please fill in an Adoption Enquiry form the Fetching Dogs website as the next step in the process. Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
