Sprinkles is a unique and loving dog with a personality as vibrant as her name. This independent and agreeable girl is ready to bring happiness and laughter into your home.
About: Sprinkles is on the lookout for an owner who either has Shar Pei breed knowledge or experience in dog ownership. If you're ready for a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventures, Sprinkles is the perfect match for you.
Her timidity in new areas quickly transforms into comfort, showcasing her adaptability and resilient nature.
She is independent yet agreeable as she navigates through life. A friendly girl who is suited to most families/homes with a playful & affectionate streak.
Ideal Home: Sprinkles is versatile and can adapt to various living situations, making her a great fit for calm and quiet homes or active and outdoorsy families.
Whether you reside in a unit, house, or farm/acreage, Sprinkles is open to the adventure, as long as the fencing is secure. She would thrive with free access to both indoors and outdoors, embracing the best of both worlds.
Family: Sprinkles is open to meeting kids of any age, making her an excellent addition to families with children. Her playful and affectionate nature ensures that she'll form strong bonds with every member of the family, creating lasting memories together.
Whether you're a part-time or full-time worker, Sprinkles is ready to be your loyal companion, filling your days with joy and companionship.
Furry Friends: Sprinkles is best to be the only dog in the home, she prefers to be the only four-legged friend in your life. Reason for this is because she is very alert around other dogs & hyper-focused when meeting other dogs and shows clear signs of stress when she sees other dogs. So, she's seeking a loving home where she can be the centre of attention and receive all the love she deserves.
While Sprinkles hasn't been tested with cats, her compatibility with feline friends would be at the discretion of her new owners.
Work: Sprinkles is a bright and food-motivated pup who would benefit from post-adoption training, focusing on basic commands and obedience.
Her stubbornness is a testament to her strong personality, but with patience and positive reinforcement, she'll be the star pupil in no time.
She may bark at other dogs, but with a loving owner who can guide her through these encounters, Sprinkles is sure to improve her social skills.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Sprinkles would benefit from daily walks ranging from 20-30 minutes per day. They are the perfect way to keep her medium energy levels in check, and she's ready to accompany you on all your outdoor adventures.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
