Are you ready for a burst of energy and endless enthusiasm in your life? Look no further than Jax! This spirited pup is seeking a loving home with experienced dog owners who can match his boundless energy and zest for life.
About: Jax is a confident, excitable, and boisterous pooch with a heart full of love. He loves life & has a high energy, outgoing nature.
Being still is just not for him - he wants to explore, sniff, play & have fun!
It's important to note that Jax prefers to eat his meals in peace, so it's best to feed him alone to ensure a stress-free dining experience.
Ideal Home: Jax is open to any home, whether it's bustling with activity or serene and calm. He thrives in an active and outdoorsy environment and would be the perfect companion for individuals or families who love adventure.
Jax loves both indoor and outdoor spaces but is content being outdoors if needed. A house with a large yard and high secure fencing would be the ideal setting for him to explore and play safely.
Family: His adaptability makes him a great fit for families with kids aged 12-15 who can match his playful energy. While he may be a bit too enthusiastic for younger children, he's sure to form a special bond with older kids.
Furry Friends: Jax's most recent dog assessment saw a significant & positive change in his behaviour. Before, he was very stressed when seeing another dog, but now he is much more relaxed & displayed social & playful behaviour. However he may be a bit too playful for reserved dogs, so he'd be best matched with energetic dogs.
Jax has a strong prey drive and is not suited to be re-homed with cats.
Training & Development: Jax, being the lively character that he is, would benefit greatly from post-adoption training. Whether it's at home or with a professional, a little guidance will help channel his exuberance into positive behaviours.
Jax loves treats and although he knows his name how 'sit' he is still learning to take treats gently, so patience during treat time is appreciated. Although he knows how to sit, he doesn't like to stay still for long - additional obedience training would do wonders for Jax & his new owners.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: For Jax, staying active is the key to happiness! He would thrive in a household where daily walks or exercises of 30-60 minutes are part of the routine. His high energy levels make him a great companion for those who enjoy an active & outdoorsy lifestyle. Jax's excitement extends to his walks, but once he's on track he quickly settles and enjoys the exercise.
If you're looking for a furry friend to share your adventures, laughter, and love, Jax is the perfect fit. With a bit of training and a whole lot of playtime, you and Jax can create a bond that lasts a lifetime.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
