About Jelly Bean
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
NAME: Jelly Bean
BEFORE RESCUE: Came to SAFE Esperance as a surrender.
BREED: Chihuahua x
BREED TRAITS: Chihuahuas love to be with their people and are definitely companion dogs that do not like to be left alone, They are sensitive and love their family but can be aloof or wary of strangers and other dogs so early socialisation is very important. Chihuahuas cannot tolerate cold or hot weather so a warm coat in the winter and care re overheating in the summer is needed - they are not outside dogs. They are bright and wilful but will learn if you make it fun and although small, have big personalities
**********************************************************************************
ASSETS: She’s easy going, affectionate, devoted, eager to please, friendly, and very sweet!
FAVOURITE THINGS: Her people! She loves to be around her people and is extremely loyal. She seems to prefer the company of men although she’s also friendly with women. She isn’t really interested in toys but loves to get out and about in the car and is happy to go wherever you go.
ENDEARING FEATURES: She’s a gorgeous girl with a whole lot of character!
OTHER ANIMALS: She tolerates the company of other dogs and is more open to being around small male dogs but she would really prefer to be the only dog in her new home so she can have her people to herself – she can be jealous if she is not the centre of attention. She can snap at a dog if it is pushy and gets in her face/space especially if it is a larger dog. She’s overly focused on cats so we won’t rehome her with any felines for their safety.
GENERAL INFO: Jelly Bean hasn’t had much exposure generally but certainly to a lead so will need some training with this as she tugs at present. She’s housetrained and will bark when someone is at the door. She is not suitable for a home with children. She doesn’t appear to be scared of anything like storms or loud noises and knows a few commands like sit, stay and come.
ESSENTIALS for Jelly Bean:
** A quiet, loving home with someone who can be there with her for most of the day on a permanent basis or can take her with them when they leave the house - she would be a lovely companion for retirees.
** Jelly Bean needs a fenced, secure yard with grass and interesting things to sniff and explore.
**Jelly Bean loves to be with her people so she needs to be allowed inside the home when you are there and to sleep inside at night, preferably as close to her people as possible!
** Jelly Bean would best suit an adult only home with visiting older children over 12. She would prefer to be the only dog in her new home.
If Jelly Bean sounds like the perfect fit for your family, please send an enquiry and we’ll be in touch soon.
