About Pilot
You will not meet a happier and more loving boy than Pilot!
This boy is such a sweetheart and very easy to fall in love with. He is a cuddly and affectionate boy who loves to spend time with his people. In fact, Pilot loves everyone that he meets and makes friends wherever he goes. He has a very happy nature – so much so that his foster carer doesn’t think that they have ever met a happier dog. Pilot’s happiness is contagious as you can’t help but smile when he looks at you with his big smile and constantly wagging tail. Pilot enjoys playtime and loves it when you join in the fun with him. He enjoys playing with squeaky toys and balls, and even feathers he finds floating around.
Pilot’s happy and friendly nature extends to all the other dogs he meets. He is living with another playful dog in his foster home whom he gets along well with. Pilot thoroughly enjoys running around and playing with his doggy friends. This beautiful friendly boy has never shown an ounce of aggression to any people or other dogs. Pilot will need regular playdates with other known doggy friends in his new home so that he can keep having fun. He is a smaller large sized dog (weighed 15kg upon coming into care but is now closer to 26-28kg) and will need a home who can provide him with daily exercise and some mental stimulation as he is a relatively active young boy.
Pilot is a confident and outgoing dog who will be able to tag along with his new family wherever they wish to take him. Nothing phases this boy! He is currently fostered in a rural town and came from a pound in far western NSW originally so he may not have seen and heard every city sight and sound. His new owners should be conscious of this and make sure that he is given positive exposure to new things in their environment. Pilot travels well in the car and would love to be included in fun adventures and outings with his new owners.
While in care, Pilot has been learning his basic training. This boy will do anything for food and is food driven in his training. He knows sit and is now learning stay, drop, wait for his food and pause at the door to get permission to come inside. Pilot gets excited to get love and attention from people so can get a bit excited. He now knows to sit for pats from his foster carer but is still learning to stay calmer with other people so his new owners will need to keep reinforcing this while he matures. Pilot seems to have naturally good recall and loves to follow his carer around. He is toilet trained and crate trained where he sleeps throughout the night without a peep. Pilot is willing to please so will be happy to learn new things in his new home.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Pilot where he will be a loved member of the family. He would do very well in a home with another friendly and playful dog who is already trained up and ready to be a good role model. Otherwise, he can live as an only dog if given some regular playdates and his owners have adequate time to devote to his physical and mental stimulation needs. Pilot should be allowed inside the home to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside at night. He would be suitable to live with older children (over 12) who have experience with more energetic dogs. Pilot will bring so much love and happiness to his new home and deserves just as much love in return.
If you would like to make this wonderful boy a part of your family, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of details about your previous dog experience, current household members and the type of life Pilot would have with you.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
