About Clefty
Introducing Clefty, a serene and special male calf who is looking for a loving environment to call his home. Even though he was born with crooked calf syndrome, which gave him a cleft palette and slightly misshapen limbs, he's managed to live life to the fullest. He loves to graze, continues to gain weight, although is a little on the smaller size than most calves his age, and has no trouble moving around. We've noticed that providing him with extra hay helps ensure he gets the right nourishment due to his condition.
Clefty is quite the social butterfly in his current herd, a tranquil group that has welcomed him with open hooves. They interact peacefully together, each respecting the others' space while sharing their home turf. Clefty is actually one of the most subdued and approachable members of the herd, always easy to approach and downright easy-going. He’s never shown any aggression, dominance or negative behaviours while interacting with humans or other animals.
He's not only friendly but also adventurous, fascinated by the happenings around him. He's known to be one of the most inquisitive calves, watching family members gather firewood or observing the hustle and bustle of the neighbouring paddocks with genuine interest. He doesn't shy away from loud noises like quad bikes or music, and even dogs don't seem to bother him.
Clefty is always first in line during feeding time, displaying his bold and confident nature without any aggression or pushing. He trusts humans and gets along easily with people, but has spent limited time with them, although he enjoys the occasional garden treat and a gentle pat on the head. With the right family who can dedicate more time to him, he will likely become the most affectionate little guy.
He is accustomed to being shifted from one paddock to another, he copes well with the transitions and is easily managed and has never tried to break through fencing. With his calm, quiet demeanour and friendly personality, Clefty would be an excellent addition to any herd.
