About Patience
Introducing Patience!
Patience is a Toy Poodle x born approx 24th December 2020.
Patience was brought to us an unmicrochipped stray & no one came looking for her. When she came in to us, her hair was so matted we couldn't feel her skin. She was immediately clipped & washed by Dee, Leanne & one of our volunteers. This endeavor took over 4hrs to complete. Due to the severity of her condition we muzzled her as a precaution, however we were incredibly surprised that in the entire 4hrs she didn't growl or try to nip once.. This is where her name came from. She was so patient with us the entire time and we wanted everyone to know of her bravery.
Patience tested well with other dogs, but can be timid & unsure of large/boisterous dogs. She would be suitable to live with another small dog, or be a spoilt "only child". If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Patience tested well with cats. We believe that with a slow & controlled introduction she could be suitable to live with cats. *Please note that our dogs are tested with cats through a cage. Their reaction may differ if they have a cat running in front of them.
Patience is untested with pocket pets at this time.
Patience has shown signs of separation anxiety while at the facility. As a result of this, she will need an owner who can either take her to work with them, be retired, work from home or have someone at home with her the majority of the time.
While this may settle with time & training, it may also be a long-term issue.
We don't believe Patience has ever been on lead before as she gets frantic when she's wearing a collar or is restrained in that way. We will be testing her with a harness to see if that is more comfortable for her.
Patience would thrive in a home where she is included as a part of the family.
Patience's adoption fee is $800 and includes her desexing and lifetime registration.
Patience has been treated for flea and worms and is up to date with her vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
