About Razor
If you are interested in Razor, or any of our Greyhounds, we require you to fill in our application form - https://forms.gle/3bTG6XWQv49RPxJV6
At 23months, Razor is a happy and playful boy who adores people! He loves to lean in for a big cuddle and seeks out affectionate pats......and loves gentle kisses on his snoot.
He has settled in well with his foster family and is very people focused, seeking out human company and following his foster mum around like her shadow! He has developed a lovely friendship with his foster brother, a fellow rescued greyhound. Razor would do well in a home where he was an only dog because you would be his "everything" or he would easily settle in with another greyhound.
His foster family has two indoor guinea pigs and a kitty. Razor has shown very little interest in the piggies but he is very stimulated by the cat - he has always been muzzled when they have been in the same space and if he becomes fixated and unable to settle, then he's been leashed too. So it's best that he lives in a cat free home.
He has spent some time alone with his foster brother when the family have all been out and this time has always been spent outdoors in the garden. He likes to relax in a dog bed in an under-cover area whilst he waits for the humans to return - and when they arrive back he is always super excited to see them! He gives leaps of joy and dashes from person to person for pats and excited greetings! Because of his excited jumps of joy, Razor would suit a family with children of around 8 years and older.
Razor is very clever and was toilet trained very easily and can hold his need for toileting for several hours over night. He goes to the door and whimpers when he wants to go outside to the garden. He always does his business in the correct place and when he's finished, one of his favourite pastimes is doing zoomies around the grass! Therefore, he would be better suited to a house with outdoor space as opposed to an apartment.
The word "walkies" and a shake of the lead makes Razor very happy! He loves to be out and about having adventures in the local streets and even enjoys a stroll along the beach. Initially, he was always very excited when on leash and would pull a little. But this has improved and he now walks with lovely lead manners - he is such a quick and clever learner! He doesn't mind a car ride either and after a walk, he will lay down and sleep all the way home in the back of the car.
Razor lives in a quiet area but some of his outings and walks have been in busy environments. He is a little timid when he first arrives to a new and busy place but his love for walkies soon makes him a confident and happy dog again. So he would settle in any home, city or quieter suburbs included.
All things considered, Razor is a happy and loving dog who will enrich the life of any individual or family who are lucky enough to adopt him as their very own!
At Homeward Bound Hounds, we pride ourselves on matching the right dog to the right family. We need to know more about you and your home to find the best possible match.
