About Jake
Prepare to have your heart melted as we introduce you to Jake.
Jake is almost 5 years old and is an ex-racing greyhound that we rescued from Deathrow.
It is no secret that these ex-racers are abandoned in huge numbers once their racing days are over and so many die before they have even lived a life.
When we heard about this boy, we just knew we had to save him.
The Rangers all said he was just the loveliest dog, calm, friendly, affectionate, and just so grateful for any attention he was given.
And Jake has not disappointed us.
Since arriving into our care he has been nothing but a total gentleman.
He is calm, relaxed and just so easy going.
Jake is everything we love about this breed – a placid, loving couch potato.
He loves everyone and is just so undemanding you can almost forget he is there.
He walks beautifully on his lead and is not reactive to anything out and about – he has quickly mastered his house training.
Jake may be a more mature gentleman, but he still has a glint in his eye and has a cheeky personality coming through.
A bit of a comedian he loves to try and make you laugh with his silent toilet roll ambushing antics.
He also has the biggest smile that will warm your heart every single time you see it
He has been amazing with the other dogs in care but as an ex racer he isn't suited to a home with cats.
Jake is a dog that is going to bring so much love to a really lucky home.
We just know that whoever takes a chance on Jake is choosing a real winner!
He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date with his worming and flea treatments.
He is located in foster care at Maudsland on the Gold Coast and his adoption fee is $495

That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
