About π Diesel. Great with toddlers!
Meet Diesel, a friendly and loving medium-sized dog who's great with toddlers. If you're a family with kids who love playing and cuddling with a furry friend, and you happen to have another dog who loves to run and wrestle, Diesel could be the perfect match. He's a wonderful family dog who is full of love and just wants to be the goodest boy and make his people happy! π
Relaxing at home, Diesel often enjoys lounging on the couch beside you or curling up on your lap if you let him. He is also well-behaved on car rides and likes to go out for walks, showing his pleasant demeanor when guided by a Gentle Leader. He's still very much a pup in how much he loves to cuddle and play, but is past the crazy, difficult age of puppyhood and is fantastic with obedience training. His quirky habit of sleeping on his back is enough to make anyone chuckle :D
Having gained experience with a toddler in foster care, Diesel exhibits terrific patience and gentleness. Heβs not troubled by the awkward movements or spontaneous behavior kids can sometimes display. Plus, he has a great rapport with other dogs and is always ready for some playtime. Group classes could further enhance his social skills and create regular doggy meet-up opportunities to help him burn off that lively energy.
Please note that Diesel wouldnβt be suitable for a family with cats. Also, since he had to adjust to a new home at a young age due to prior familyβs limited time, Diesel can get anxious when left alone. Therefore, he would thrive in a home with another playful dog to keep him company and aid him in gaining confidence during those solitary moments.
All in all, Diesel's love, friendly nature, and his remarkable temperament with kids make him an amazing family dog. With the right family, Diesel is ready to blossom into a loyal and playful family companion.
Medical notes
Diesel is a healthy boy with his vetwork up to date.

ABOUT OUR ORGANISATION
Sunny Days runs Victoria's only specialised stray cat rehab facility. On a rural property in Avalon, Vic, our rehab centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is in constant demand due to the sheer number of cats born wild and dogs no longer wanted.
Despite this demand, we have no source of ongoing funding. Unlike public pounds which enter into contracts with local councils to be the facility responsible for housing lost animals; reuniting them with owners; and sourcing new homes for those unwanted, volunteer-run pounds like ours do not have the option to partner with a government organisation and have the running of the shelter funded - we are left to fund our work through ours, and the community's donations.
You can help continue saving lives by clicking the pink DONATE button on this page, or further options at the bottom of this section. β‘ Thankyou! β‘
π OUR WORK WITH CATS:
We take in full cat colonies, pregnant and nursing mothers, ophan kittens, FIV positive cats, and sick or injured cats. Cats are humanely trapped after being identified as un-owned; we don't take in domesticated cats and have extensive processes to ensure cats trapped are true strays as opposed to owned. We don't give cats deadlines to be socialised by or they'll be euthanised, we provide sanctuary for them for as long as they need.
π OUR WORK WITH DOGS:
We take in dogs from community surrenders, owned arranged euthanasia's which vets have intervened on, and greyhounds retired from or not suitable for racing. Most of our dogs are with us for an extended period of time to ensure we know them really well before putting them up for adoption, and have been assessed by professional dog trainers if not worked with extensively. We provide full discretion with adopters about dogs' health and behaviour and unlimited, 24 hour support to integrate adopted dogs into new homes, families and lifestyles.
π HOW YOU CAN HELP
We receive adoption fees, however our animals are adopted out less frequently than happens at other shelters and rescue organisations as our animals are with us for extended periods of rehabilitation. We rely on donations to keep our animals fed, parasite treated, vaccinated regularly and treated for illness or injury. You can donate by clicking the pink DONATE button on this page, or via the alternate options below. Thankyou for your suppawt β‘
