Cato

Meet Cato, a sweet and shy little man who is on a journey to discover the joys of life. Having experienced a challenging start, Cato is seeking a calm and patient owner to guide him through the world at his own pace. The shelter environment overwhelms him, but his love for food and keen sense of smell make him highly responsive to enrichment activities like snuffle mats.

Cato is a novice at leash walking and harness use, but the dedicated team is gently introducing him to these experiences. He's begun to learn basic cues like 'sit' and 'down' with the help of tasty treats. A recommended crate/den area will provide him a safe haven when he needs to retreat and regroup.

While Cato engages in gentle play with soft squeaky toys, he's not yet bold enough to explore other toys. Potential adopters with older, calm kids are encouraged to introduce them to Cato at the time of adoption. Cato needs a patient and understanding family to help him overcome his fears and blossom into the loving companion he is destined to be.
