About Ava
Ava, a lovely greyhound in foster care in St Ives is now available for adoption
7.5 years old
Microchip No: 956000004076804
If you are looking for a super affectionate greyhound who is also calm and impeccably behaved then Ava could be just the girl for you. Ava is a special girl who came into our care later in life having had 2 litters of puppies. She has been well cared for and this is reflected in her physical condition and her beautiful nature.
Ava is a very pretty black greyhound, with a silver-flecked muzzle which is typical of middle age. She is an average size weighing about 30kgs. She will be 8 years old in March 2024.
Ava is extremely affectionate and happiest when she is with her human family. She loves a cuddle and will often nudge your arm hoping for some attention. But she is also happy to chill out on her bed and can be left home alone for a few hours if required. When chilling out she is almost always smiling and often roaching with all 4 legs in the air.
Ava sleeps well but prefers to be on the floor close to her human’s bed rather than to be on her overnight.
Ava loves her walks and is happy to be on the lead. She seems to enjoy being outdoors and has not shown any anxieties related to being in the big wide world. She is not bothered by local dogs we meet while out walking but will still tolerate being sniffed or barked at showing almost no reaction. But when it comes to people she simply adores anyone who pays her any attention.
Ava will live happily with another greyhound or another medium-sized dog. We believe she is a good candidate for a green collar with her lack of aggression.
Ava will be happiest with a single person or a family that is around more often than not. She would also love to have a garden that she can wander around.
