A letter from Willow's Foster Carer:
When Willow came home for foster, she was very scared and didn't come out of her cave for quite a while. She did like a head rub, but still wouldn't come out when people were around. I would just sit in the room with her for short spaces of time and talk to her, and eventually she trusted enough to come out to receive pats.
She will need a very patient adopted family, and considering her skittishness, older children would probably be better.
If you had a friendly cat at home, she would also love this, as she played chasings with our other cat. Once Willow starts coming out of her shell, you will notice improvements on a daily basis as she gets more confident. She loves playing, and her favourites are chasing ropes, shoelaces, and string, and attacking your hands or feet under a doona. Willow does not like to be picked up, nor is she a lap kitten, although this may change over time.
She will, however, happily snooze close to you and enjoy some pats and give smooches. She also has a gorgeous little voice, which she will use more and more as her confidence grows. It has been an absolute pleasure watching her come out of her shell.
