About Sammy
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? Say hello to Sammy, a registered pure-bred German Shepherd who is 4 and a half years young. Sammy is full of life and love for people, always happy to be in their company. He's an extroverted, outgoing, and fun-loving dog with an affectionate nature.
Sammy is a real people pleaser. He'd be happiest in a home where he can be part of the gang, joining in on whatever is happening. His playful mannerisms and cheerful disposition make him stand out. When he's not frolicking around, his favorite pastime is enjoying comforting pats and affection, often leaning into your hands to ask for more petting.
Sammy's social nature also extends to his interaction with other dogs, as he has been great with them from the first day he came to us. He'd adore a family that has another playful, good-natured dog for him to buddy up with. His energetic and playful spirit means he's better off in a cat-free home, as he can sometimes get a little bit too enthusiastic around his feline counterparts!
Sammy tends to experience a little separation anxiety, but he's able to settle down after a while with a bit of reassurance from you. Once he realizes you're coming back, he'll patiently wait for you, although he might just sneak onto your favourite chair for a nap in the meantime.
Out on walks, he's a bundle of excitement and can pull a bit but, on the positive side, he wears his collar and lead without any fuss. With a bit of training and patience, we're confident that Sammy can develop leash manners.
Whenever you call his name, be ready for some wagging tails, as Sammy will usually come towards you eager for cuddles and games. If you're looking for a true companion who's full of life, love, and infectious joy - Sammy is the one for you.
Medical notes

Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
