About Waddles & Wilbur
Hello, we are Waddles and Wilbur.
We are the two best of friends who have been raised together and have never been apart.
We were initially raised as therapy pigs to provide our family with companionship during the stress of lockdown. We were then taken in from our first family who were moving and given a home by our current owners as they saw that we were needing a safe home. Heartbreakingly, we are in search of another new home, a forever home.
Right now, we live in paradise, spending our days relaxing in a mud pit, playing with enrichment toys, roaming around paddocks, rolling in the dam and getting excited whenever it’s time for a feed. The boys spend their day relaxing in a mud pit, scratching their bums on scratching boards (wooden pallets), or playing with their ball and enrichment branches.
Occasionally they get to run in the main paddock and roll in the dam.
Although our family tried to do the right thing by us and opened up their home to us when we desperately needed one, it isn’t set up to house us long-term. Therefore, we are in need of a third home that can offer everything we need such as more space, secure fencing, safe and weatherproof shelter, stimulation, and of course, love and plenty of pats and scratches.
As far as fences go, we use ours to rub up against them for a good scratch, but that’s about it, we’ve never tried to escape them (even though we could if we wanted to!) We live in our own pen, but our pen connects to pasture with cows and sheep, although we aren’t really interested in them, nor the dogs that we live with.
Waddles is the boss. Waddles in particular loves a good back scratch and will seek out belly rubs whenever possible. With practice, he’ll sit for you if strawberries are being offered. Wilbur, on the other hand, is sweet but shy around new people. Wilbur takes a little longer to warm up to you but once he does, he has a lot of love to give.
Our journey hasn’t been easy, but we know our miracle adopter is out there somewhere.
