About Cleo
Hi! I'm Cleo and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR CLEO
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/LnAp8iuah7XUMqL96
NOTE: You are unable to meet Cleo until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Cleo in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate who is gentle and calm may be okay. I will require lots of socialisation with positive experiences with other dogs.
• I arrived at the shelter as a stray so my history is unknown. Due to this, my interaction with cats, pocket pets or fowl that are free roaming in the house or yard is completely unknown. There can be no guarantee that I will be ok living with them, so it is recommended that I don't go to a home that has them.
• Due to coming to the shelter as a stray my history with children is unknown. I can be shy and a bit jumpy is unfamiliar or loud situation so small children may scare me. Older children who understand I may be shy to start with should be ok.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidentally scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
• No Cats or pocket pets as I will most likely chase
My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet, however I do appear to be a gentle well mannered girl although i can be a bit unsure of new situations.
• I'm learning to walk on the lead at the shelter and am getting much better. I'm still a bit slow and fearful but with lots of practice I should soon look forward to a daily stroll around the neighbourhood
• I am extremely timid in new situations. Lots of socialisation and taking me to lots of different places and meeting lots of people will teach me to be more confident.
AN ADOPTION CAN'T BE APPROVED IF YOU HAVE CANNOT COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET CLEO IN PERSON.
