About Gertie - Located in Preston
Gorgeous little Gertie is one of the sweetest kittens you could possibly imagine. She has amazingly beautiful expressive golden eyes, the softest fur and the most gentle nature you could possibly imagine. One of her great passions is bird watching and she simply delights watching them from a warm cozy spot near a window, as she happily chirps to herself. She also loves playing with wand toys such as Da Bird, chasing balls and other toys. They’re a never-ending source of joyful fun. However, her absolute favourite thing in the whole world is smooches and cuddles with a loving friend. This makes her feel safe and loved.
Like many people, this lovely girl can show a little initial reserve, but once she feels the loving warmth and security from her new best friend, she will become the perfect loving feline companion. You will totally lose your heart to her as she snuggles and purrs away ever so contentedly. You will be smitten with this kitten.
Sweet Gertie’s been with her siblings, who have all gone to their loving new homes so now she’s hoping to find her own best friend, who will love and care for her. She would thrive in a home where there is another gentle sweet cat she could spend her days with. However, she would also be fine as a solo cat with someone who has time to give her lots of love.
Please consider becoming a best friend to this sweet gentle loving little soul. She will add so much warmth and magic into your home. She’s looking forward to meeting you.

WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
