Smiggles *On Trial*

*smiggles is currently trialling her new home* meet smiggles she’s turning 1 in april and would love a furever home for her birthday, will it be with you???

this super-friendly young dog was recently surrendered to sarg when her owner, who loved her dearly, decided that a small unit backyard was no place for this high-energy beagle x kelpie who couldn’t run around so was getting bored and up to mischief. Smiggles is now in care on half an acre and is enjoying being able to stretch out and run, run, run!!!

smiggles is a bouncy, affectionate girl who gets along really well with other dogs and simply adores humans of all ages. She isn’t a barker (only barks at the occasional hot air balloon flying overhead) and isn’t a fence jumper; at the unit she was behind 5 foot fences and never attempted to escape. She has had some basic training and once she calms down will sit and drop for treats though could do with attending obedience classes or just a new owner who will consistently work with her so she has lovely manners. Smiggles loves going for walks and is used to being on a gentle leader. Smiggles does jump up on you a lot especially when she’s excited which is fairly often so while she’s in care we’ll be working with her to learn the “down” command. Being a bit boisterous smiggles would be better suited to older children as she’d bowl the little ones over with her exuberance. Smiggles loves a bath outside with the garden hose and has fun playing with her kong and her treat ball, she isn’t a fussy eater and uses her kennel to sleep in. Smiggles would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with a playful doggie companion to keep her company or on her own but only if she won’t be left alone for long periods of time. A good size secure yard, daily walks, bones to chew on and toys to keep her stimulated and out of mischief would make smiggles very happy indeed!
