About Kyle STA011628
Meet Kyle, a sweet young guy who has overcome some rounding corners of life but still has a heart full of love to share. His quiet nature and observant persona make him a compelling companion.
Though humans may take a backseat to scratching posts and wand toys in Kyle's preferences, he's shown some promising signs of warming up. He loves to stay engaged with surroundings, always keeping an eye on what's going on around him, but he also appreciates quiet moments spent observing the world.
Kyle's world revolves around a reliable routine. He's well-trained and makes good use of a scratching post, saving your furniture from those sharp nails. Once Kyle feels comfortable, he opens up and is inclined to enjoy a good chat with his human. Although not a "touchy" guy right away, he thrives on understanding and patience.
While he's learning to trust more, Kyle's ideal home would be a quiet and experienced one, without young children or dogs. With time and patience, in his new home, he will learn that humans can be kind and trusted.
Kyle's ideal day would involve playing with his favourite wand toys, exploring the exciting events of his environment from the safety of a meticulously positioned perch and ending the day with a session on his trusty scratching post.
In the right home, the transformation of Kyle from a nervous boy with trust issues to a calm and trusting companion will be a rewarding journey. If you're patient, gentle, and willing to give him the space he needs on his own terms, then you may be his perfect match. When Kyle chooses to trust, we believe it will be well worth the wait.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
