About Verna
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Spend more time at home than out
- Have a small patch of grass for this lady to enjoy
Verna, who is sometimes referred to as “The Queen of Sheba”, is truly irresistible and oh so pretty! Verna is a very affectionate, confident, alert girl who will love you unconditionally, as long as you provide her with lots of pats.😊
This girl likes to hang out and snooze, often in her bed but quite often just on the floor wherever she lands. She sleeps quietly through the night until you get up. Currently she does not climb on the couch or bed, but if she were allowed, she would be up there asap. If that is not what is wanted a bit of persistence will ensure she follows the house rules. She is very smart and has learnt many new boundaries, however she does know her own mind and persistence with Verna is key.
Verna enjoys going for walks and usually has two walks a day at the moment, even if the evening walk is just a quick 10 min stroll around the block. Verna is currently living happily with another male Greyhound, but she is a little wary of new dogs and is still getting used all the breeds out walking.
Verna walks well on the lead and is comfortable with traffic noise. She is a country girl you know and lots of traffic is a bit different for this girl, but she is managing very well walking along busy streets. She enjoys travelling in the car and will normally jump into the back of a hatch back, but sometimes needs a little assistance. Once she is in, she curls up and chills out happily.
Verna has not been left for long periods of time and currently shares her foster home with a male Greyhound foster. But we think Verna would fine as a single dog or with a doggie companion. She is just very easy and lovely and is a delight to have around. She certainly is a presence hence the nickname “The Queen of Sheba”, as she certainly does own the space. Verna would enjoy living with folk that are around more than not, and to have a small patch of grass for zooming and sniffing, but mostly she just wants a companion to hang out with.
Verna has been a much loved brood bitch who has had two litters with a total of 19 pups! But we think it's now her time to get into pet life!
Although you might think Verna is an older girl, she is certainly full of beans and loves to have her nose into everything. Will you be the lucky person to be Verna’s best buddy? As we know this affectionate gal will absolutely delight you.
[Note: Under Victorian Law greyhounds must be on-leash at all times in public areas, including in off-leash parks or ovals]
