Gem

Sweet Gem has had a rough start to life but she’s come such a long way since! She can be fearful at first but once she has time to settle in you’ll find that you have a constant shadow wherever you go because she just wants to be close to you.

At home, Gem loves playing with her foster brother and chasing a ball, and will keep playing till she’s absolutely puffed, and pretty much sleeps for the rest of the day. She walks perfectly on the lead because she’s just too afraid to stray too far, and will only try to chase the occasional bird as she gains her confidence. If a dog she doesn’t know runs up to her, she will get defensive but otherwise doesn’t mind them just walking past her. It would be great if her new family works on her socialisation with dogs so she is less fearful of them.

Gem is currently on anxiety medication that she takes easily once a day with her breakfast, and an older dog companion would be ideal, providing Gem with the comfort and reassurance she craves when home alone. She mostly sleeps in her crate at night, but also loves to cuddle up with her foster brother sometimes.

Gem would make the perfect addition with her funny little quirks and make her forever family love every second with her as we did.
