About Kevin
Kevin’s an 8-month-old Dalmatian x French bulldog (yes you read that right). If you’re looking for an independent dog then Kevin’s not your man, but if you’re in the market for a foot warmer and emotional support buddy to keep you company on the loo – then Kevin might be for you.
Kevin will thrive with someone who is home a lot – this dog wants nothing more than to be with you.
Kevin’s a former apartment dog so he does well inside, he’s largely house trained and has spent the last week asleep at my feet while I work, asleep at my feet while I wash dishes, asleep at my feet while I sleep (I broke my no dogs in the bed rule for Kevin because he’s that dang sweet).
If he’s with you he’s a cool, calm little man. He’s still getting used to being outside and gets anxious if he’s left outside alone for too long.
Kevin’s good with cats (he’s smart enough to give them their space) and good with kids – although he is still a puppy so can get a bit excited. He’s taken to following my toddler around because my kid thinks feeding Kevin is the best thing since sliced bread and Kevin doesn’t disagree. On our walks out and about Kevin’s won over strangers with his full body wag.
Kevin would do well as an only dog or with a patient desexed female. Kevin knows how to sit and is getting better at containing his enthusiasm and not jumping up (although if he hasn’t seen you for 15 minutes it’s a lot of excitement). Kevin will benefit from ongoing training to build his confidence and reinforce good manners like not pulling on the leash. In the few weeks Kevin’s been with us he’s shown he’s keen to please and I think he’ll do well with ongoing positive reinforcement and puppy school.
If I sound perfect for you, please complete the short adoption application form in the attached link, please note this is the only way your application will be considered: https://homelesshounds.com.au/adopt/dogs
Medical notes
Kevin is desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations and parasite control.
He is in perfect health.
