Hiya, I’m Sterling!
I’ve heard that I just need to write a little bit about myself so that people can see how much I have to offer - here goes! 📝
I am a loveable, young gentleman and it truly doesn’t take much to keep me happy and entertained. 😊 Just like the metal, I am an excellent, high quality choice plus if you look after me, I will still be dashingly handsome well into the future! I came into care as a stray and was left unclaimed but I have flourished since being rescued; my coat is thicker and shinier and I have come out of my shy shell.
My favourite way to spend the day is lounging around the house and snoozing. ☀️💤 My current absolute favourite spot is in a shoebox under the Christmas tree. My foster mum tells me there are lots of perfectly good beds but none compare to my shoebox. Occasionally I get the zoomies and tear around the house; I've even been perfecting my cricket catch slides which I love to do on the timber floors. I enjoy neck and shoulder scratches and will purr and pull cute faces in appreciation if you give me one (though one is never enough!). They are definitely the best way to my heart. 🥰 I can lounge by your side and even come when called. 👍I love to chat and will be sure to let you know if I'm displeased which is mostly when my food bowl is empty.
I love human company and have gotten more used to other felines during my time in foster care (though I can be bossy at times because I'm not used to other cats being friendly). I even get along with the resident canine! I would call us more acquaintances or housemates than friends but we happily relax in the same room together and there haven't been any stern words or gestures exchanged. I don't mind being picked up and held and am now starting to cuddle closer on the bed. Now that I am accustomed to indoor living, I much prefer it and would like to be an indoor only cat into the future. I'm still a little bit skittish around loud noises (eg. dog barking, trains, etc.) so would prefer a home with older children.

Adoption details
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the cats. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the cat at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the cat get along- you have the option of either taking the cat on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the cat on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the cat, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold cats for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the cat, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details.
