Digby is a 4yo Red Merle Dachshund.
Digby, also known as Digs or Diggers is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face. He is the coolest, happiest, cuddliest pooch on the block.
Digby loves pretty much everything! Digs loves cuddles, toys, squeaky toys, kids, dogs and did we mention squeaky toys?? If you have a doggy toy box inside, Digs is sure to sniff it out and pull every toy out, one by one and bring to his bed. When he finds a toy has a squeak, this sound will repeat over and over, until you finally decide to trade for a soft toy to give yourself some peace and quiet.
Digs’ legs maybe the teeniest, cutest legs you will ever see, but do not let them deceive you! Come zoomies time, these legs can go a million miles an hour and just may be the most adorable thing you will ever see.
Whilst Digs is pretty much perfect, he will require further toilet training for extended periods of time inside and given his tiny statue requires a careful introduction to larger dogs who may initially scare him.
Being a Dachshund, Digs new family must be well aware of the breed specific traits including being prone to disorders that impact their mobility. With this can come large vet bills. It’s important Digby’s new family are able to ensure his medical needs are met and health insurance is a very good option for our Dachshund friends. It’s also important to note his tiny frame isn't made to sustain a lot of running and jumping.
Digby came to Forever Friends with an ear infection and is currently on medication to treat his ear infection and twice weekly soaks in Malaseb for his teeny paws. Digby will require check ups and to ensure his owners stay on top of any infection that may pop up. It is also important to note Digby is ‘Opioid Sensitive’ and his regular vet will need to be advised, in the event he requires any further surgeries.
Digby would love to be part of your family, he loves kids, enjoys the company of other dogs and has been absolutely fine with his feline foster sister. He would love to spend a lot of time inside, snuggling on the couch and playing with his new family.
