About Misty
Hi! I’m Misty and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR MISTY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/GfMj6KP5m5qwVVXt7
NOTE: You are unable to meet Misty until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Misty in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• BREED EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• No young children as when I'm excited I get very bouncy and mouthy, older children who will be involved with my training should be ok.
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• I am a clever, young and active doggo - I would be great for dog training, trick training, agility etc.
• I LOVE other dogs but I’m a very energetic and playful dog, so I need a doggy playmate who will match my energy levels and playfulness.
• I arrived at the shelter as a stray, so my history is unknown. Due to this, my interaction with cats that are free roaming in the house or yard is completely unknown. While being at the shelter I seemed to fear cats, but very interested in small animals like rabbits, ferrets etc. A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Small children due to being mouthy & bouncy.
• Small animals as I may find them fun to chase
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated.
• Gentle & placid
• I know the commands, Sit, Down and Wait.
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• Social butterfly
• I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.
• I LOVE toys, playing fetch and a game of tug-o-war
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch
• Exuberant & full of beans
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I need further training on my recall as I can ignore you if you're trying to call me back to you
• I can be a bit bouncy -training should stop this
• I can be strong on the lead - training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this
• I appear to have issues with resource guarding when it comes to my toys and treats. I will need some training to help fix and to get rid of this behaviour. I will happily give you the toy or treat I am guarding for something of higher value. With commitment and time, we will be able to work on this
