About Bear - 2 Year Old Dogue De Bordeaux (Trial)
Bear is a very special big girl as she was one of the 28 French Mastiffs rescued from a backyard breeding situation. These dogs had been living in horrible circumstances and had never left the yard or exposed to the outside world until they were saved. Because of this they have missed out on critical socialisation, exposure and quite fearful of the outside world.
Despite this start to life these dogs are very dog social and have a beautiful temperament and are coming out of their shell everyday. Having said that they will need extra time and patience getting use to human touch, new sounds and feeling comfortable in their new homes.
We are offering extended training and support to Bear’s new home to help her and her new family get the confidence and tools to live the best life ever.
This gorgeous Teddy ‘Bear’ loves nothing more than pats and snuggles on the couch with her favourite person.
She is so sweet but can be a little bossy towards her shy guy brother. Bear is more confident and outgoing than Dave and first in line for any treats or cuddles. She sits on command beautifully.. very reward driven.
Bear's idea of a perfect day is being spent along her brother and humans. She is a very social and loving.
She also had a rough start in life, but it hasn’t stopped her giving lots of love. She is able to walk on a lead and sit on command and sometimes lay down (we’re still working on this one)
Bear is slightly more reactive to other dogs but is learning to socialise meeting new dogs.
She is great with kids and will take all the human attention she can get!
We would love to see Bear and her brother Dave adopted together if possible as it will make the transition much easier and help him for the future.
Bear will need consistent and ongoing training and socialisation even though she is more outgoing there is still lots for her to learn.
At this stage Bear can’t be off lead at anytime outside of the house. So dog parks, beaches and off leash areas are not an option, but in the future hopefully.
Dave and Bear are in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW. Adoption fee is $400 each or $600 for both Dave and Bear. They are desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
