About Derek
Meet Derek, a curious and cheeky feline with a penchant for discovery and amusement. Derek isn't merely a quiet observer, he embraces daily adventures with mischievous glee and an unyielding love for his surroundings.
Derek loves to be the entertainer. He'll amuse himself (and you) for hours, chasing and batting around his favourite toy balls. His playful antics are highly contagious, turning even the gloomiest of days into a joyous event. Watch as he scurries around, his eyes sparkling with glee, and you'll be reminded of the boundless energy and excitement of joyful discovery.
He also loves looking out the window, truly curious and fascinated by the world outside. Between play sessions, Derek can be found perched on his favourite sill, studying birds and relishing the view from the security of his own space.
What truly sets Derek apart is his unique communication style. Rather than your typical cat call, Derek chirps like a bird, adding yet another layer to his fun and eccentric personality. He's still working on his meowing. And though his methods are unconventional, they fit his vibrant spirit perfectly.
Derek is a lover of food and takes great enjoyment in eating. Whether it's a crunchy kibble or a special treat, he is on the prowl, eager for every bite. He is also easily motivated with treats which makes him quick to learn new tricks.
Derek's zest for life is truly inspiring. His curious nature and playfulness offer endless entertainment and plenty of snuggles. Derek is looking for a home that can offer him space for play, treats for motivation, and all the love he deserves — ultimately, a home that will embrace his cheekiness and zest for life. This chirping charmer is sure to brighten up any home.
Derek is looking for a home with another cat to play with and has not been tested with dogs.

Adoption details
When someone contacts us to apply for an animal we will send an application form to be completed. When we receive a completed application form we will share this with the foster carer to approve the applicant.
We will then organise a meet & greet with the applicant and the foster carer to meet the animal, learn about their routine, behaviours and what they eat, drink, etc.
After the meet & greet the applicant is contacted to see if they want to proceed with the application and the foster carer approves the applicant.
We will then complete paperwork, payment, and organise a time to have the animal picked up.
Animals are then adopted on a 2 week trial, during which we stay in touch and provide support for the new adopter.
Once adopted we will send through vet records & paperwork and transfer their microchip.
We offer communication and support throughout the fostering & adoption process.
