About Bert
Are you looking for a best friend – someone that is happy to be in your personal space at all times? If the answer is yes – then look no further – Meet me - I’m Bert the Pug!
I am 8 years and 11 months old
My foster mum has said do not let my age fool you - I can sleep like the young ones can! I love to have a bit of fun time outside (at my pace) and then hang around inside lying down, snoozing or just being me!
My foster mum says I'm the just the sweetest boy - she says I'm chilled and nothing ever really bothers me.
I love everything life has to offer - love a good meal, love a good walk and love just life.
My foster mum says one of the funniest things I do is if I'm hungry I will do a howl to remind you that it's dinner time and I need nourishment!!
I love to go for two small walks a day nothing better then having a good chance to sniff around where other dogs have been and i can sometimes leave a small msg for them as well!
I love to be around people, cuddling on a sofa, water (i am even happy to go for my walk in a drizzle, I love pillows and cushions to lie and snooze on, oh yeah and the morning sun to do a bit of Bert baking.
My foster mum says I'm so easy to fall in love with.
I did come into care with my brother Ernie - it was soon pretty evident that I was a bit bossy around Ernie and it was better for us to be separated. I have lived with other dogs of all sizes and they have not bothered me - I'm happy as an only dog or happy with another dog.
I have lived with a 10 year old boy - that was good especially when he was watching tv - I could snuggle on the couch with him.
My ideal home will be with someone who is home more often than not or who works from home.
I do like to sleep on the couch or on a bed - I would also happily sleep with you if you let me
I have a coat that does require brushing (yeah okay okay the rescue had to do a few de-shedding sessions on me when I first came into care).
So if you’re looking for someone who will love you lots and also give you some serious smiles - apply to adopt me, your life will never the be same again!

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
