Let us introduce you to the sweet and very friendly little gentleman … Rocki…..

This gorgeous little fella is a Jack Russel x . We think whippet with a love of life and humans . He is very spritely for his age and can even manage a few kms run with his foster Dad.

He is a very friendly gentleman, with both people and animals. He’s happy just snoozing on the couch or his bed most of the day, sunbaking outside, or following you around the house. In the evening he will snuggle up next to you on the couch. What this gummy man lacks in teeth, he more than delivers in guaranteed laughs with his derpy dangly tongue.

Rocki is gentle and non-destructive and has not caused damage to any items or furniture. He doesn’t seem to be familiar with the usual doggy commands, but it hasn’t been an issue. He doesn’t usually respond to his name, and we think he may be slightly deaf. Again, this hasn’t been an issue, but it would not be advisable to let him off lead in public /open spaces. He often responds to hand gestures though, ie to come over for a pat, or to hop up on the couch.

Rocki has always been friendly toward other dogs, and has not shown any signs of aggression. He has had a meet and greet with the neighbor’s dog (Cavoodle) and gone for walks together, with no issues whatsoever. Sometimes he will pull toward other dogs on his walk but only because he wants to say hello. He has been friendly with all visitors to the house, but caution must be taken around the front door when it is opened as he could easily slip out. He hasn’t been tested with cats. He loves love loves his walks, and has a surprising amount of energy, and will even run for short bursts with you. He also enjoys stopping regularly to sniff all the sniffs.

As we have mentioned Rocki has no teeth as he has had a full dental with all removed but this causes him no problems at all.

Rocky enjoys both breakfast and dinner. At breakfast he is given a handful of Saviour Life dry biscuits, which he manages well despite having no teeth, and at dinner time he is given a mix of wet food (kangaroo is a winner) and dry biscuits. He enjoys little kangaroo bites as treats, but hasn’t been keen on bigger bones.

Rocki will occasionally play on his own with one of his toys, tossing it up in the air, and will sometimes play with you but not as much, although generally has a playful nature. He has a short, sleek coat, which does shed a little. He is happy to be brushed.

He currently sleeps on the couch or on one of his dog beds in the lounge. He would most likely want to sleep close to you in your room – he has scratched on our bedroom door a couple of times during the night. He sleeps through most of the night but will sometimes get up and wander around.

Ideal home:

Rocki would love to live in a relaxed home with a single person .couple or family, where he has access to an outside area to toilet and sunbake, and is allowed everywhere inside, including on the couch with you (note, he finds very smooth floors a bit slippery and hard to walk on). He would love to go walkies with you each day.
