About Arnie
Our gorgeous little Dachshund x is now seeking a special and patient home to welcome him in and show him how to be loved.
Arnie is such a special boy who has come a long way since arriving in care. Before arriving into care all he had known was his siblings and past owner. The big wide world is a scary place and as you can imagine for Arnie who had not been socialized with other dogs (outside his siblings) and humans it is much more scary. Arnie now welcomes and demands pats, he is very food oriented and will come to you even when scared if you have a yummy treat, he is learning to play with toys and loves playing with all the other dogs in the home. In a new home you will need to be patient and allow Arnie to trust you and feel confident and not rush him.
Favorite things -
Arnie loves pats and lots of pats, playing with soft toys, destroying boxes, zoomies and playing chase with the other dogs in the home
Interaction with humans -
Arnie once comfortable will demand pats. If he is not comfortable if you have treats he will demand your attention because he wants lots of treats. Arnie will prefer chest rubs until comfortable with you.
Obedience / Training
Arnie is a very smart dog but due to his lack of having much human contact prior he will need training of the basics like sit etc when he has bonded in with his family While in care we have been working on bringing out his confidence especially with humans. He will also need to start going for daily walks once his confidence grows in his new home.
Animal Social Skills -
Due to Arnie fear of things unknown we will be seeking a cat free home
Arnie is currently living with seven other dogs of all shapes and sizes and gets along fantastic with all of them. If you have a dog in residence they would need to be female and dog social.
Sleeping -
Arnie currently sleeps on one of the humans bed, however when he first arrived he slept on a dog bed

A lot of love and training! Arnie should be welcomed as part of the family and not just left on his own in the backyard all the time. His owner should dedicate time to training and take him to puppy classes
