About Bear
The beautiful Bear is a 2-year-old female Maremma with a heart of gold.
Initially aloof, in two short weeks in foster care, Bear has started to come out of her shell, exhibiting an affectionate nature and love of a cuddle.
Whilst Bear ventures inside for short stints, she is happier outside where she can survey her domain and keep an eye on things, although she welcomes human interaction and pats. Once she trusts you she will enthusiastically approach and give you a gentle nudge if you aren’t quick enough with a pat.
Bear has integrated well with her foster pack of three kelpies, and whilst initially shy, is enthusiastic about the odd zoom and wrestle. She enjoys the interaction with the other dogs and will take herself off when she has had enough. Bear was initially curious about the resident cat but showed no inclination to chase and went on her own way.
Bear has her basic training down, but like any dog will benefit from further training and the right type of mental stimulation. Typical of her Guardian breed, Bear will need lots of space, and is not suited to a suburban location. She has had limited exposure to cattle, horses and chickens, always with a fence in between, and exhibited little interest in them.
A family experienced with the breed and willing to give this gentle girl the space, training and affection she needs, would be ideal.
If this sounds like you, apply for Bear now!
Bear is located in VIC.
