Tiger is a sweet young lady who came into care in a bad state of health. She had severe dry eye resulting in eye ulcers, skin infections that required medicated baths and antibiotics, ear infections and was over weight. But fortunately that did not destroy her beautiful nature 🥰
Since arriving in care she has been treated for all of these things including surgery on her eyes that involved transplanting saliva glands into her eyes to become "tear" producers. This has been very successful and she now produces tears each time she eats!
Tiger has had a huge overhaul of her diet to help with her skin and has made a difference 👏👏 At this point however she is still having cytopoint injections. These typically cost around $110 each time. With the change in her diet we have been able to extend the timeframe between these injections so her new family would need to aware of this potential ongoing cost. Her new diet has also assisted in weight loss and she is now a very healthy weight.
Tiger loves her people and likes to be where they are. She is not a lap dog but will be asleep at your feet (or sometimes on the couch next to you) or following you around whilst you go about your daily chores. She looooves to walk so she is looking for a family that will walk her daily, take her on outings and allow her to be part of the action. She travels well in the car and has even enjoyed a camping trip in the caravan with no concerns at all.
Tiger has been around children of all ages and we have no concerns with her behaviour toward them.
Tiger is "cat enthusiastic" She has been living with cats but a home without a cat is probably best. She would also be best suited as an only dog, not because she doesn't get along with other dogs, but because she tends to become more vocal when other dogs are around. She loves meeting her doggy friends for a walk and plays nicely with them.
Tiger was predominantly an outdoor dog prior to coming into our care so her toilet training is still a work in progress but has improved a lot. She knows how to use a doggy door but has not had access to one in care so this could really assist with her toilet training. Tiger is crate trained and will hold on all night from approx 9.30pm-7.00am
Tiger's ideal home...
Commitment to ongoing diet to assist for her skin/weight
Welcome her inside to be part of the family
Active and able to walk her daily
Take her on adventures with them
Financially able to provide vet care as required.
Whilst we understand this is a huge ask we know that Tiger's perfect home is out there.
Tiger is desexed microchipped vaccinated flea and worm treated up to date.
