About Tilly
Hey there, my name is Tilly. I am a very special girl looking for a very special home. My breed mix will mean a lot of people will want to apply for me, but please make sure you read my whole profile before applying to make sure you can give me the home I need and deserve.
I am one of the many animals saved from the one awful home. Before that awful home, I came from another crappy home, so I really haven't had the best start. I need a home that's patient, kind, loving and more importantly will give me the time I need to settle, decompress and learn to love in my own time.
I am hesitant when I first meet other dogs, but once comfortable I am happy and submissive and just love having a friend to play with. A furry friend in my home is an absolute must, as another doggy companion will give me confidence, help me feel safe and allow me to learn how to be a dog.
I have not been around cats in care, but I have been around chickens with supervision. This will need continued training to ensure that chickens stay friends and not food.
I am fine while my humans aren't home or not around me, but only because I have doggy friends. I sleep outside on a bed - I am scared of crates and kennels and will need confidence building in this regard. I'd do well in a home where I am allowed inside and included in my family's time and space.
I am extremely gentle and sweet with children. I like to put my paws up on them in the most gentle way, though my foster family are working on discouraging this behaviour.
I have developed a special bond with my 8 year old 2 legged sister, and I get so excited when she hears her voice. I am wary of strangers, and would prefer a quieter home with minimal visitors to allow me to have my own special space.
I am unsure of new situations and am very slow to pick up training, but building my confidence is the first thing my foster family has been working on. I still have a really long way to go, but I believe that the best way forward for me, is to find my perfect forever family and begin my healing journey with them. Once I feel safe and secure in my new environment, I will be able to thrive and become the loving family dog that I am destined to be, in the amazing home that I deserve.
